Newborn Photographer East London: Cambridge Heath, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Bethnal Green and London Fields
East London has always felt like home to me. I was born in Hackney, grew up between Shoreditch and Islington, and these streets are ones I know not just as a photographer but as someone who has always belonged here.
So when enquiries come in from Bethnal Green, London Fields, or Hoxton, something in me lights up.
A recent session near Columbia Road
I photographed a newborn family recently just a short walk from Columbia Road flower market in Hoxton. Their home had that quality that East London homes often have. Character, light, a sense that real life happens here. Not a show home. A lived in, loved in space.
This family loved colour and vibrancy. You could feel it in how they had made their home. And they still chose me, which I loved. Because my work is quiet and natural and unhurried, and somehow it sat beautifully inside their world. I wanted to bring their energy into the session without losing what I do. I think we got there.
That is exactly where my work comes alive. Natural light. Your home. Your story. And East London homes give me so much to work with.
The areas I cover
I regularly photograph newborn families across East London including Cambridge Heath, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Bethnal Green, London Fields, and Hackney. I also travel to areas further out including Loughton and Ilford for the right family.
The commute across East London is one I genuinely enjoy. A train, a walk, and I arrive unhurried and ready. That matters. Because how I arrive affects how the session feels.
What a newborn session looks like
Every session is done in your home, in your own light, at your baby's pace. But recently I've been doing something I love. For families who book a longer session, if the timing is right and the baby is settled, we step outside. Not far. Just to somewhere nearby with good light and something interesting behind you. It changes the whole feel of the gallery and it's become one of my favourite things to offer.
