Family Photography in Enfield and Barnet, Natural Light, Real Childhood
Some sessions you don’t plan. You just follow.
A garden. A hosepipe with too many settings. A child in swimming trunks who has absolutely no interest in standing still. This is the kind of session I love most.
There were handstands. There was water going everywhere. There were blurred edges and curly hair and a ginkgo leaf held up like it was the most important thing in the world. And in that moment, it was.
I got close. I stepped back. I waited. I let it be messy and alive because that’s what childhood actually looks like, not posed on a lawn in matching outfits but fully, completely in it.
These are the photographs that will matter in twenty years. Not because they’re perfect. Because they’re true.
This is what I offer families across Enfield, Barnet, and North London. I come to you, I work in natural light, and I follow your children wherever they go. Gardens, parks, living rooms, lakes, woods and beaches - wherever they’re most themselves.
If you want photographs that feel like your actual family, not a version of it, I’d love to hear from you.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Samantha Black is a natural light newborn, family and maternity photographer based in North London. Since 2012, she’s been photographing families across London in their own homes, drawn to the quiet, in-between moments that feel like memory. She works slowly, without posing or pressure, and brings the same warmth to every session, whether it’s a one-bedroom flat in Barnet, a half-renovated Victorian terrace in Winchmore Hill or an outdoor space that feels a bit like home.
