EOS Magazine October 2020

Thankful to have my work commissioned for EOS Magazine

My daughter Téla was 16 in this image. I took it at home in my living room using natural light from a window and, a reflector. I know it's not her favourite image of herself, but, I love how beautiful her skin and hair is, and this black and white really showcases her natural beauty.

Often with black models, there has been a tendency in the photography arena to over process black and whites of darker-skinned models to make the skin look quite metallic. Whilst I understand this can be a sought after and very specific look, it’s not to my taste. So, I didn’t do anything other than skin retouching and a few other fairly basic adjustments to this, which is exactly how I like it.

I'm Samantha, a London-based Portrait Photographer, Content Marketer, and Educator. I've been capturing the essence of adults, children, and babies since 2012.

I aim to help individuals, families, and brands forge meaningful connections with themselves and their audiences.

I'm a soulful creative and a purposeful storyteller. My art is an extension of who I am, rooted in values of connection and creativity.

And yes, I'm always up for a bit of worldwide adventuring with my work.
