Some of the most beautiful maternity sessions I’ve ever photographed have happened in the most ordinary spaces.
Not despite the ordinariness. Because of it.
What made that session wasn’t the flat. It was them. It never has to feel like a photoshoot.
Anneliese and Aaron were expecting their first baby when I came to photograph them. They lived in a basement flat, one of those North London homes that shouldn’t work on paper but absolutely do. Limited light in some rooms, plenty in others once you know where to look. We moved through the whole flat together, the bedroom, the lounge, the dining area, finding what each space could give us.
What made that session wasn’t the flat. It was them. They had this quiet, open energy between them, the kind that doesn’t need an audience. Genuinely into each other, calm and unhurried, completely themselves. That’s all I need. When a couple are that comfortable together, the photographs almost make themselves.
That’s what I want to bring to Enfield and Barnet.
Because the truth is, the best maternity sessions aren’t about having a beautiful home or perfect light or knowing how to pose. They’re about being willing to just show up as you are, in the place where you actually live, and letting someone pay attention.
I come to you. I work with whatever your home gives us, the window in your bedroom, the corner of your lounge, the hallway you’ve never thought twice about. I find the light, I follow the feeling, and I make photographs that look and feel like your life, not someone else’s idea of it.

I photograph maternity sessions from around 28 weeks, with the sweet spot for most women sitting between 28 and 34 weeks. But every pregnancy is different, so if you’re further along and feeling good, get in touch and we’ll make it work.
