What shall I wear?

I think that is the question I ask myself every single day.

The good news is, that for me, it's pretty simple actually, because when I am photographing children, babies and families, I just need to be comfortable so that's how I'll dress for your session. However, for parents, well, there is a little bit more to it.

If you are planning to be in some of the images,  I recommend the following:

Preparation is key, take the time to think about and prepare you clothing so you don't have to worry on the day of your session.

Wear what feel comfortable and natural to you - so please, if you don't like wearing for example a button down shirt, then avoid wearing one.  If on the other hand you do like that look and are comfortable wearing it, go for it.

Avoid large logos and branding - they will date easily

Try not to clash with each other - think about colour choices, you don't have to match, but you also don't want to clash.I would also recommend you avoid the classic 'lets all wear white tees', unless you really are going for something really quite specific, I wouldn't recommend this.

If you like colour, wear colour, if you like more muted tones that's great too - Unless this is a styled shoot, this isn't the time to create your new image if there's a chance you may look back and dislike your images then it's probably not a good idea!

Think about your setting - are you going to be outside against greens, browns and yellow tones or will it be autumn, so oranges, reds, yellow and brown?  How will this influence your choice of clothing? Contrasting or complimentary colours can work well, if you are really stuck, why not ask me for advice, I will try my best to help where I can.

Make up and hair - entirely up to you, but you want to look back in years to come and be happy with how you look, so have that in mind when finishing your look.
