I’m Samantha, thank you for taking the time to look at my work.
I’m a North London based Photographer covering London, Hertfordshire and Essex.
I specialise in newborn, baby and family photography and fine art children’s portraits. I photograph with the sole purpose of either creating beautiful timeless fine art portraits or generating memories through genuine and emotive story telling.
My work has been featured in publications both nationally and internationally. I have won awards in both classical fine art children’s portraiture and newborn portraiture, have been commissioned by businesses and brands to undertake projects for their campaigns and have been featured in various online and print media. Previous clients include Lyle and Scott and The Urban Flower Farmer.
I am pleased and honoured to be a member of 2 highly respected and leading associations in the industry; The Baby and Newborn Photographers Association and The Masters Photographers Association. I qualified for my Licentiate with The Masters Photographers Association in 2015. It is recognised as a benchmark of excellence across the world.
I have completed a DBS check (previously CRB), and I am fully insured. Safety is paramount when working with newborns especially therefore I practice and advocate safe posing techniques at all times.
I sincerely want to make you and your family feel at ease whilst telling your story or creating your portraits.
This is one of the most important things I try to do. It really isn’t just about taking photographs, it is as much about you and your family feeling comfortable in your own skin and in front of my lens. The rest really isn’t an issue.
I’ll take my time to help alleviate any concerns and apprehension you may have by getting to know you and your family a little.
I’ll also help to put you and your family at ease so that we can achieve exactly what you what. Whether it’s working around nap times, working with high energy excitable children, or a shy or embarrassed child or adult. We are all human and we come with so many dimensions and emotions.
I cannot tell you how fulfilling it is to know that my job as a photographer and story teller is so much more than taking photographs. I get to see inside peoples lives, I have seen joy, sadness, hope and fears. It’s what makes us human and it give me so much pleasure to be the one to record your story and your moments for you in a way that represents you best.
So I have my way of just making it work, for you. The truth is, I am no magician, but what I will do is get to know you, find out what you would like, work with you to tell your story and thus create a beautiful set of images that you will love.
I want to create a beautful portrait that you will see every single day, and love forever. Without hesitation.
I’m in love with creating beautiful fine art portraits that will hang on my clients walls for a lifetime, or creating fine art albums that can be looked at time and time again. Simply because they are a solid memory from that very special time and they will undoubtedly exist within families for a whole lifetime and more. It’s because of this love that I enjoy working with and for people that realise the true value beautiful images. I can honestly say that although I want to create images that you will love for years, I wish so much more to create portraits that last for generations and finished products that will be cherished by your children, and their children. When I photograph a child I am seeing that child’s portrait hanging on a wall, this is how I create portraits. This is how I create art for every single client I meet.
And if you would like to know more about me…
I’m mum to two beautiful children. They are the first to put a smile on my face every morning, and my world. I love simplicity, beautiful places and people that make me smile.
I’m pretty transparent, never pushy and prefer to let my work speak for itself.
I am constantly growing and investing in my craft.
I truly believe in giving my clients the highest quality products I can, no question.
My life journey began back in university, a long career in fashion (buying in merchandising) and then I transitioned into e-commerce merchandising. It’s through e-commerce fashion that I found photography. Or should I say, photography found me. It began with photographing clothing on models and simple product photography. Then I was approached by a few young designers to photograph their fashion lines and boutique labels. As time went on, I wanted nothing more than to immerse myself in the world of Portrait Photography. At that time in my life, aside from wanting to devote my time to my family, my desire to create beautiful portraits became increasingly apparent and impossible to ignore.
I have never looked back, and that desire has never faltered, not for one moment.
It’s really simple. I get overawed by a beautiful image. I don’t know why. I just do. That’s why photography fast became my passion. Let’s be honest, I’m not the kind of photographer that wants to shoot everything and anything, but there is something about creating beautiful naturally lit portraits and visiting amazing locations that resonates with me. It is loving what I do the way I do that drives me to grow, learn, perfect and refine my craft. I get to create and individually hand craft beautiful portraits to perfection, realise my artistic vision and capture moments in people’s lives that will never be seen again.
It’s really simple. It’s my art, and I want to share it with you.
Capturing emotion and being that pause button is all I know how to do and to be honest, want to do. The pure innocence of a sleeping newborn baby, a mother cradling her baby, a child’s profound innocence, the look in your partner’s eye, or just that pure unconditional love that you and your family share. Even those moments in between shots can sometimes be the sweetest.
I’m always honoured and privileged when a parent chooses me to photograph their newborn, baby or child. I guess it’s something to do with remembering just how delicate and fragile my children were as newborns and how as they grow, you sometimes just want to stop time in its tracks – but you can’t. I want to be that pause button for every parent that chooses me so I capture those moments with my lens in the best way that I know how.
Put simply, this is my craft. I love it. So I’ll always give you the best of me…
Here’s how I do just that. I keep it relaxed, natural and personal to you from beginning to end. I have an intimate yet unobtrusive style and most of all, I want your images to represent you. I want you to love and cherish them. So I can come to your home, or at a location of choice – wherever you and your family feel most comfortable.
